Candace Peck
Candace has over 30 years of experience processing, adjudicating, and administering Social Security and SSI claims and representing people in Social Security Hearings.
Candace can help you file your claim for Social Security/SSI Disability benefits, or pursue an appeal of a denied claim for benefits filed with the Social Security Administration. She has many years of specialized experience and training geared to know the ins and outs of the tangle of the Social Security Disability Programs. She understands the levels of severity that an impairment or combination of impairments must meet in order to establish eligibility for disability benefits.
Filing for disability can be very frustrating because the questions are very intimidating and personal. Many people do not provide enough detailed information during their initial claims interview about their medical and vocational history to give the disability examiner a clear picture of their disability and inability to work.
Disability examiners are judged by the average time that they process their cases to completion. So there is a pressure to meet the time tolerance for each claim that crosses their desk. In order to meet that target, an examiner will make a decision in a disability claim when the evidence received shows that the person does or does not meet the listing requirement for the alleged impairment. An examiner does not have to wait for every requested medical report to be received. He/she only has to show that he/she waited a reasonable amount of time and a reasonable effort was made to obtain the evidence.
A representative or advocate has the advantage of examining a case and seeing the missing pieces and providing those so as to convince the Administrative Law Judge or adjudicator of the convincing evidence in the case.
Candace has received many hours of training on questioning techniques and on the information examiners are looking for in the different body systems in determining whether a person meets disability eligibility criteria.
Years of experience given her an edge in evaluating medical evidence, work history and educational background in being able present your case to your best advantage.
